being able to do something we all take for granted...seeing.
i am happy i can.
and i guess i should say that i am happy that i still can get up from more falls in a week than most of ya'll (i hope) go thru in a year...
was told a long ago that the shame is not in the fall- it's in staying down and not trying to get back up.

Goin to the gym and being the only one there. No buff guys checking themselves out in the mirror, no skinny girls checking their make up every five minutes.
Working out with Toby on blast and nobody rolling their eyes.

knowing that even though he's just left - before i know it the week will pass and he'll be home..

hey i signed up to be a Special OLympic coach too!
When I moved... I wrote down 3 goals that I needed to accomplish here. One was volunteer.

i volunteered to help with the award banquet and dance afterwards a couple years ago
that made me feel happy =)

there is no greater feeling of satisfaction then when you help another person achieve a goal.
knowing that even if they finish last in a race- they've won.
i get inspiration from each one of the participants...i laugh, cheer and cry with them.
the smiles; the laughter and the tears keep me going and knowing that many of my so-called "bad" days would be a great day for some of these athelets.
i never take that for granted. each day i strap on my "legs" and stand up- i think of those in wheelchairs who wish for my mobility...and curse myself for sometimes being negitive.
true to the saying "i cried when i had no shoes until i met a man who had no feet"...there, by the grace of God, go I.
volunteers are the salt of the earth.
